As children, we often have very ideal ways of viewing the world. When I was very young, probably no older than five, I used to sincerely believe that I should have the capability to draw anything that I could picture in my head. Quickly, I realized that this was not the case. While I no longer believe this, at least in its literal sense, this idea that I should be able to take a representation in my mind and be able to clearly and exactly replicate it has served as underlying influence throughout my life.
